American College Connection: Tennis Tennis is one of the 10 most popular sports in high school in the U.S. and is rapidly gaining in popularity internationally. As more international players utilize scouting and recruiting services, college coaches are finding it easy to locate talented stars from other countries.
The number of U.S. high school male tennis players alone has increased by over 4,000 from 2001 to 2002. It is getting much more difficult for U.S. born players to get recruited by college coaches. To get an idea of just how difficult it is for players to have a chance at receiving a college scholarship in tennis, consider the following numbers that do not take into account the number of international players who are being recruited.
Consider The Following Numbers:
| Boys | Girls | |
| Number of high school tennis players | 139,483* | 160,114* |
| Number of graduating high school seniors every year. | 35,000 | 40,000 |
| Approximate number of full scholarships available each year for Division I and II programs | 433 | 760 |
| Your chances of receiving a full Tennis scholarship. | 1 in 80 | 1 in 52 |
American College Connection can level the playing field and dramatically improve your odds to getting recruited by increasing your exposure and making it easy for college coaches to know about you.
